Teen suspect accused of killing 73-year-old Fishers man due in court Tuesday
HAMILTON COUNTY (Dec. 23, 2014) – A teenager accused of killing a 73-year-old Fishers man is due in court Tuesday afternoon.
Maxwell Winkler, 17, Fishers, is charged with murder in the Nov. 1 death of Henry Kim. Police said Kim was shot three times and his throat was cut. He was on a walk when he encountered Winkler, investigators said.
Investigators said Winkler planned the attack in advance. They found a note listing supplies and how to select a target. Writing on the note said to “enjoy kill, shoot twice at most, slit throat” and “wait and review till time, dusk, prepare to kill.”
On Friday, Winkler’s attorney filed papers seeking to use an insanity defense in the case.
