INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 6, 2015)– The Indianapolis Zoo’s Amur tiger cub “Zoya” enjoyed snow for the first time Tuesday.

Zoya was born on July 10 and is now nearly 6 months old.

Because the young cub is still acclimating to her outdoor environment, it will take a while for Zoya to work up to being outside for long periods of time like the zoo’s adult tigers.

Amur tigers, which are native to Russia, are well acclimated to colder climates, so zoo guests will see more of Zoya as the winter goes on.
