MARION, Ind. (Jan. 27, 2015)– The death of a 2-month-old child is under investigation. Police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Gallatin Street Monday night.

The infant was in respiratory distress, and reportedly had blue lips as it was carried out of the house.

The child was transported to Marion General Hospital, then later flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne where the child died.

Police say there were no signs of trauma to the baby, but are investigating it as suspicious due to the child’s age.

The autopsy was completed Tuesday afternoon, but it may be several weeks before the findings are released.

The cause of death is unknown at this point.
