Two dead, one injured after near southeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 17, 2015)-- Two people were killed and another was injured Tuesday night in a shooting on the city's near southeast side.

Officers were called to a convenience store in the 1900 block of Prospect Street on a report of a shooting shortly after 8 p.m.

When officers arrived they located a man shot in the neck. That victim was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical, but stable condition. Officers were then called to check the 1000 block of Harlan Street for additional victims possibly down in the street.

Officers arrived in the 1000 block of Harlan Street and located two men who had been shot. Both individuals were pronounced dead.

"Basically we are working two crime scenes. It’s a lot of people to talk to.  There’s a lot of shell casing in the street. We know there’s several people that possibly heard something or saw something. Our detectives will be working the area trying to talk with witnesses and just try ot get an idea of what happened here," explains Officer Rafael Diaz, with IMPD.

Police have yet to determine a motive. All three victims are male.  Names haven't been released yet.
