INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 22, 2015) — Police have released the name of the suspect in Saturday night’s officer-involved shooting.

The man has been identified as Kent Norman of Indianapolis. Police released his photo Sunday evening.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Heather Circle around 4 p.m. Saturday on a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found Norman wielding a knife inside the home. Norman did not drop the knife after being repeatedly asked to do so by officers, which lead to them using deadly force. Norman was pronounced dead on scene.

As is standard procedure, the officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
