Police, DCS investigate death of infant in Rush County

CARTHAGE, Ind. (March 2, 2015) – The Department of Child Services (DCS) is assisting police as they investigate the death of an infant in northwestern Rush County. The Rush County Sheriff’s department responded to an apartment complex in Carthage on Sunday. A neighbor told FOX59 she saw someone carrying a baby out of an apartment.

According to neighbors, an ambulance and police cars remained at the scene for several hours.

Few details are being released by law enforcement officials because it’s still early on in the investigation. The Rushville Police Department is also assisting with this case.
