Despite 3 ‘American Idol’ rejections, ‘lullaby mom’ goes viral with 20 million views

(March 9, 2015) - "American Idol" told her no three times. That hasn't stopped a South Carolina mother from becoming a breakout viral sensation.

Kimberly Henderson recorded a video of herself singing the Whitney Houston song "How Will I Know" to her baby daughter.  The video has received more than 20 million views since she posted it on Facebook, according to WGN.

She auditioned for "American Idol" three different times but couldn't take the next step.

“They have good things to say. They just said, ‘You have a really unique voice, we think you’re good, but it’s just not your time yet,'” she told WGN Morning News. “So I’m guessing maybe now it’s my time.”
