Fleeing narcotics suspect crashes into car, injures innocent driver on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 21, 2015) – A fleeing narcotics suspect crashed into a car and injured an innocent driver Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3:15 p.m. IMPD was on a narcotics investigation near East 21st Street and Sherman Drive.

Anthony Bryant, 39, fled police in his vehicle. Police pursued Bryant as he fled east on 21st Street. As he approached Emerson Avenue, police say Bryant crashed his car into another car.

At that time, Bryant fled on foot. Police caught up with him and used a Taser to subdue him. Bryant was placed under arrested, and police found drugs on him. According to investigators, Bryant has several outstanding warrants for drug violations.

The female driver of the car Bryant crashed into suffered serious injuries. She was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in stable condition.  Medical personnel were checking for possible internal injuries.
