Offenders found after walking away from Columbus work crew

COLUMBUS, Ind. (April 22, 2015) – Two inmates were located Wednesday after walking away from a work detail in Columbus.

They were found along U.S. 31 in Amity, authorities said.

According to the Indiana Department of Correction, Cody Morris, 23, and Troy Thomas, 23, were part of an IDOC/INDOT trash pickup work crew when they left. The offenders from the Edinburgh Correctional Facility were wearing yellow jumpsuits.

Morris was serving a two-year sentence for car theft and receiving stolen property. Thomas was serving a one-and-a-half-year sentence for car theft.
