VIDEO: Act of kindness caught on camera at Qdoba restaurant

(May 13, 2015) – An act of kindness doesn’t have to be big to make a difference. A Louisville resident recorded a heartwarming video of a Qdoba worker helping a woman.

And apparently this wasn’t the first time the worker has helped the woman.

According to WAVE3, Ridge Quarles has worked at Qdoba for five and a half years. During his time working at the restaurant he’s become pretty close to some of the regular customers. And there’s one particular woman he got to know very well.

Quarles says she was dropped off by a TARC bus that helps people with disabilities. “She didn’t get to get out of her house very often, but whenever she did, she always told me, ‘Ridge, this is my most favorite place to eat,'” Quarles said.

Quarles says he knows her order by heart – a taco salad with hot sauce and cheese for lunch, and a burrito with hot sauce and cheese for dinner.

Quarles told WAVE3, “I had helped her through the line and sat her out in the lobby, got her a drink, got her utensils and napkin and kind of started to walk off and I was like, you know, ‘Is there anything else I can help you with?’ and she turned around and she was like, ‘Sir, if you don’t mind could you help me eat?'”

Quarles didn’t even think twice about it.

A customer at the restaurant was so impressed that he got it on video.

Quarles said, “I mean, she needs help and if I wasn’t going to do it, no one was. Who else is going to do it?”

The simple act only took Quarles a few minutes, but it’s had a lasting impact.
