CLEVELAND (May 16, 2015) — Police in Cleveland say three people are dead and five have been hurt after a stolen SUV crashed into an apartment building.

All eight were inside the sport-utility vehicle that crashed early Saturday.

Two of the injured people are in critical condition and the three others are said to be in stable condition.

Police say the driver lost control and hit a utility pole before smashing into the building on Cleveland’s east side. Investigators tell Cleveland media outlets that the stolen SUV was speeding on a city street just before the crash.

Names of the victims have not been released.
