INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 16, 2015) -- State leaders and racing fans fueled-up for another busy day at IMS during Breakfast at the Brickyard this morning.

Keeping with tradition, more than 60 mayors from Indiana posed by a pace car.

Mayors from across the state have been coming together since 1958 for a breakfast.

But today for the first time ever there was an all-female panel of speakers.

Alice Hanks, Janet Guthrie and Lyn St. James talked about the evolution of women in racing.

“Women are a part of this world, the world of racing – they always say it’s male dominated – and I always say it’s because more guys showed up,” said St. James.

St. James raced in the Indy 500 seven times, from 1992 to 2000.

The full 500 festival princess court was also there, and Purdue student Ali Mathena from Whiteland was crowned the queen.
