INDIANAPOLIS (May 27, 2015) – An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer found dead inside a southwest side home Monday has been identified.

Detective Gregory Slaven was found unresponsive at a home on the southwest side around 10 a.m. Monday. Slaven, a 15-year IMPD veteran, was assigned to the Northwest District. He was under internal investigation and placed on paid administrative leave as a result.

Monday’s discovery marked the second death investigation at the home in the 8600 block of Ingalls Lane.
