TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (May 28, 2015) – Failure to see an oncoming train almost cost Gary H. Deboy his life earlier Thursday afternoon.

Deboy, 73 of Romeny, Indiana, was traveling westbound on County Road 1200, just south of US 231 in Tippecanoe County when he came upon the railroad tracks.  While pulling across the tracks Deboy failed to recognize the oncoming CSX train. Deboy was able to get his cab across the tracks but his empty trailer was struck by the train and sent about 75 feet down the tracks.

No injuries were reported, however Deboy was cited for failure to use due regard when crossing railroad tracks.
