Police: Robbery motive in northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 31, 2015)— Metro police say a man was shot and robbed Sunday morning on the city’s northeast side.

The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. near East 38th street and North Shadeland Avenue.

According to investigators, 35-year-old Michael Dudley of Indianapolis was shot in the chest and hand.

He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told police they saw another man roll the victim over and go through his pockets, taking items.

Those same witnesses told police they then saw the suspect go through the victim’s car as well.

Police say witnesses described the suspect as a black male in his 40’s, with three gold teeth.

The suspect was seen driving away in a blue Cadillac sedan.
