Officers pull 17 year old’s body from southern Indiana lake

SHOALS, Ind. (June 6, 2015) –  Indiana Conservation Officers say they pulled the body of a 17 year old boy out of Patoka Lake, in Orange County, early Saturday morning.

Just before midnight police got a call from the boy’s friend. He told police the boy dove from a floating dock while swimming with friends.

A diver located him in nearly 15 feet of water, within minutes of his first dive.

Officers say he was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

Police say an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday. The official cause of death is still unknown.
