LEBANON, Ind. (June 6, 2015)–  Southbound Interstate 65 in Boone County has reopened following a serious crash Saturday afternoon.

Boone County authorities say the single vehicle crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. near the 143 mile marker.  That is about two miles north of Lebanon.

Police say three people were injured; two were taken by ambulance to IU Health Methodist Hospital and one to Riley Hospital for treatment.

Investigators say a family of 8 from Frankfort, Indiana were driving to a soccer tournament when a tire on their vehicle blew.

The vehicle swerved into the median and crashed into the wire barrier.

Emergency crews worked nearly 45 minutes to free an adult male who was trapped in the vehicle.

Injuries consisted of mostly broken bones.
