Man dead, another injured after accident in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (June 26, 2015)– One man died and another was injured in a two car accident Friday in Lafayette.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of Haggerty Lane just after 4 p.m. on a report of an accident. The Lafayette Police Department said that a 1948 Chevrolet car crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-150 in the oncoming lane. The crash is still under investigation.

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital in stable condition. He may have sustained a broken leg in the accident.

Police say the deceased will be identified after his family is notified of his death.
