Fans of The Rolling Stones say concert is “surreal”
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 4, 2015) — At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), cars aren’t racing, but the minds of The Rolling Stones fans are. The Stones, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, performed in front of a huge crowd this Fourth of July. For some, seeing The Rolling Stones at IMS is a dream. For others, it may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“Couldn’t get any better, unless they had a race going,” said Steve Rice.
Leading up to the concert, there was tailgating and partying. The fields around the track made it look like the Indy 500 was happening. Fans came from all over the state and the country. To them, this was one of the best Fourth of July celebrations.
“This is the best of both worlds coming together in one day. I mean, the greatest track in the world and the biggest band in the world, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than this,” said Matthew Rice.
This was one of those events on some bucket lists that can now be crossed out.
“I always dreamed of The Rolling Stones being at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I made that comment probably when I was 16 years old, long time ago. and they’re here, it’s almost, I gotta pinch myself. It’s surreal,” said Patrick Spears.
