INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 10, 2015) – Crews from the Indianapolis Fire Department battled an apartment fire on the north side early Monday morning.

The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. at the Brownstone Apartments in the 3300 block of North Meridian Street. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the building. They needed about 20 minutes to put the fire out. No one was hurt, but 10 people were displaced. The fire affected a total of six units--two from the actual fire, four others from smoke and water damage.

The fire caused at least $150,000 in damage. The cause remains under investigation, although investigators believe the fire started on the first floor.
