Four people shot, two dead in two separate shootings ending a violent weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (August 23, 2015) – Two people died and two others were hurt after two separate shootings late Sunday night, ending a violent weekend in Indy.

Officers first received a call about a person shot in the 3300 block of S Lyons Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived on scene, officers found three people shot. Two victims were transported to Eskenazi in critical condition, where one died a short time later. Police say the third victim was shot in the foot and is in stable condition.

Officers also received a call about shots fired near the intersection of Bernard Avenue and Byram Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Monday.

When they arrived on scene, officers found one person shot. Police say the victim was in critical condition but later died from his injuries at IU Health Methodist Hospital. The man was identified as Marshawn Frazier, 20, Indianapolis.
