2-year-old child shot on city’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 19, 2015)–Metro Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s northeast side that injured a 2-year-old child.

Police were called to the 6100 block of East 40th street around 10:45 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

When they arrived, police say they found a three year old child with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The child was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children in good condition.

The circumstances of the shooting remains under investigation.
