Speeding drunk driver arrested with child in front seat

MUNCIE, Ind. (September 19, 2015)–When an Indiana State Trooper stopped a Muncie man for speeding, he discovered the man was not only drunk but had a child in the front seat as well. 

32-year-old David Kennedy was reportedly clocked at 89 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone Friday afternoon on the Muncie Bypass.

An Indiana State Trooper stopped Kennedy as he pulled into the parking lot of a bar and grill.

The trooper said as he approached the vehicle he noticed a child under the age of 10 in the front passenger seat.

Kennedy was arrested and charged with operating as a habitual traffic violator, operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction, operating while intoxicated endangering with a passenger under 18 years of age.   There was also a speeding ticket and a charge of operating a vehicle with a false and fictitious registration.

Kennedy was booked into the Delaware County Jail, his son was released to family members.
