RECIPE: Thomas’ English Muffins Breakfast Burger

Serves: 4

 

4 Thomas’ English Muffins
1 pound pork sausage, ground
1 teaspoon sage, fresh, finely chopped
1 teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and pepper – to taste
2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
4 slices cheddar cheese, good quality
4 eggs
8 slices bacon, cooked

 

Heat oven to 350 F.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork sausage, sage, brown sugar, cayenne, red pepper flakes, kosher salt and pepper. Mix well.

Form the sausage mixture into 4 four-inch patties. Place the patties in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook 4 minutes per side until browned.

Fry four eggs to desired doneness.

In a toaster oven, lightly toast the Thomas’ English Muffins. Spread butter on the muffins. Assemble the burger- patty on the bottom, topped with one slice of cheddar cheese, 2 slices bacon and egg.

Place in an oven at 350 F for three minutes to melt the cheese. Serve Immediately.
