INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 1, 2015) – Day 2 of the Andrew Luck watch was a rerun of Day 1.

The Indianapolis Colts’ three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, who suffered an unspecified injury to his right shoulder, did not throwing during the early portion of Thursday’s practice which is open to the media. Luck was limited to handoffs while backup Matt Hasselbeck and Alex Tanney, who recently was signed to the practice squad, shared throwing duties.

The team revealed Wednesday Luck injured his throwing shoulder at some point in Sunday’s 35-33 win at Tennessee. In a widely-viewed video from late in the fourth quarter, Luck is shown wincing when Hasselbeck tapped him on the chest following his 35-yard touchdown pass to Phillip Dorsett.

Luck would not elaborate on when the injury occurred or its nature during his Wednesday meeting with the media.

However, he said he hoped to return to practice Thursday.

“Take it day-by-day,’’ Luck said. “Expect to play, that’s for sure. Obviously going to defer to the doctors, the trainers and the coaches on everything when it comes to that.

“Hopefully (do) a little more (Thursday) and be ready to go.’’

The Colts host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Luck has yet to miss a snap, let alone a game, due to injury since the Colts selected him with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft. The last time he was listed on the NFL’s injury report was late during his rookie season with a knee injury.

Luck has started all 57 games, including the playoffs.

He also has been under constant siege. He’s been sacked 105 times in the 57 games and hit countless times while throwing.

Luck has been sacked five times this season and hit another 21 times, according to NFL game books. The league also had him getting hit 111 times while being sacked 27 times in 2014.
