Mango mess: Overturned semi causes 35,000 pounds of fruit to spill onto interstate

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 28, 2015) – A semi-truck carrying 35,000 pounds of mangoes crashed just south of the north split Wednesday morning, creating a mess on the roadway literally and figuratively.

The crash occurred just before 2 a.m. on the west bound Interstate 70 ramp to south bound Interstate 65.

Mangoes spilled onto the roadway, and the interstate was covered in mango mush.

The ramp re-opened around 9 a.m. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
