MULBERRY, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2015) – A Florida teacher faces charges after police say students saw him watching porn on his cell phone at school.

Vadi Valez-Gonzalez, 47, faces two counts of showing obscene material to a minor and four counts of using a two-way communication device to commit a felony, according to Bay News 9.

Last week, four students in Gonzalez’s ninth-grade intensive reading class at Mulberry High School saw pornography on his iPhone, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. It started when a student approached Gonzalez to ask a question and saw pornographic websites, including images of two adult men engaged in sex acts.

The student told police she “couldn’t believe” what she’d seen. She then got up to throw something in the trash and used her cell phone to record a video of what the teacher was watching on his phone. Three other students also saw the images and videos and reported it to authorities, police said.

After obtaining a search warrant for Gonzalez’s phone, investigators discovered he’d visited a mobile pornographic website more than 380 times between Sept. 30 and Oct. 13, including at least two occasions during school hours.

An examination of the phone showed pornographic advertisement banners were running during school hours on Wednesday, when the students reported the incident. Gonzalez has been placed on administrative leave, administrators said. He doesn’t have any previous disciplinary actions on record.
