FISHERS, Ind. (Nov. 10, 2015) – Officials from IKEA and the city of Fishers revealed new details Tuesday about the proposed IKEA store coming to central Indiana.

“I think this is a big win for the city of Fishers today,” Mayor Scott Fadness said during a news conference at Fishers City Hall auditorium. “This is a big win for the entire central Indiana region.”

The store would be just off of I-69 and 116th Street in Fishers. According to company officials, the 296,000-square-foot store would cover 35 acres and include 1,000 parking spaces. The company said the massive store would add about 250 jobs in customer service, food service, sales and accounting.

The store, the Swedish furniture retailer’s first in Indiana, is set to open in fall 2017 once final approvals are set. IKEA has 41 stores around the U.S., with the closest in proximity to Indiana located in Bolingbrook and Schaumburg, Ill.; St. Louis, Mo.; and West Chester, Ohio.
