SUV crashes into Burger King

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (November 22, 2015 )– An SUV crashed into a Burger King Sunday evening leaving a gaping hole in the side of the restaurant.

Emergency crews responded to a Noblesville Burger King near 141st Street and State Road 37 shortly before 8 p.m.

Noblesville Police say when they arrived, they found a 2001 Chevy Tahoe that struck the building causing significant damage to one wall.

The restaurant was immediately evacuated and there were no report of injuries to customers or employees.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 60-year-old Gina Gonzalez of Fishers.  Police say she was not hurt either.

Police at the scene said Gonzalez told them she swerved to avoid a vehicle that cut her off and crashed into the restaurant.

Inspectors were called to evaluate the damage to the building.  Police say the business will be closed until further notice.

Investigators say the accident remains under investigation and alcohol has not been ruled out as a possible contributing factor.
