INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 7, 2015) — A fatal crash closed the I-70 ramp to southbound I-465 on the southwest side of Indianapolis Monday morning.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. and involved a single vehicle that struck a concrete barrier. Indiana State Police said the male driver died. Investigators later identified the man as Kevin Moran, 52, Greenfield. A witness saw Moran’s pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer when it began to veer left, struck the concrete barrier, crossed the interstate, struck another barrier and then went down an embankment.

Moran was found unresponsive after emergency crews reached him. Efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.

The ramp reopened around 9 a.m. Officials had expected the closure to last about two hours.
