Franciscan St. Francis Health welcomes first baby of the New Year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 1, 2015) – A Greenwood couple welcomed the first baby born in 2016 at Franciscan St. Francis Health.

Ava Bentley was born at 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2016, to Amanda and Mike Bentley of Greenwood, Ind. Ava weighed in at 8 lbs., 4 ounces and was 22 inches long.

As of Dec. 29, 2015, there were 2,224 babies born at the Indianapolis hospital. Since 1995, nearly 48,000 infants have been delivered there.

Families of the first New Year’s Day baby born at Franciscan St. Francis Health receive a gift basket containing items for the baby.

And as is tradition at the hospital, “Jesus Loves Me” plays over the public address system each time a baby is born.
