Indiana woman dies after crash involving golf cart, alcohol believed to be factor

HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (Jan. 1, 2016) – A woman died following a golf cart crash in Henry County, and police believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded around 10:45 p.m. Thursday to 8364 E. 200 S. east of New Castle after reports of a crash involving a golf cart.

Investigators said the cart went off the road and down an embankment, overturning and trapping a woman underneath it.

Both the woman and the male driver were taken to the hospital, but the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The driver was medically cleared and then given a blood draw.
