NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (January 3, 2016) - The Crawfordsville great grandmother of 14 who got a firefighter calendar for Christmas is a youtube sensation with more than 54,000 views.
On Sunday, 80-year old Mary Ann Davis had a special visit with some firefighters in Hamilton County.
Davis received a signed copy of the calendar and got to meet and take pictures with the firefighters who were a part of the steamy 20-16 calendar to help raise money to build a fallen firefighters memorial.
The response has been overwhelming and Mary Ann’s viral video helped boost sales.
So far, firefighters have sold 3 times the calendars they thought they would and they've raised more than 35-thousand dollars that had gone directly to the memorial project.
Davis says the calendar was given to her as a funny gift, but the goal behind it is an honor to be a part of.
“You go to bed sometimes thinking what am I really here for and did I really help somebody, yeah, I did today,” said Davis.
“Her zest for life and how youthful for an 80 year old that that brought that much joy and excitement to her, it’s just very neat,” said "Mr. April" Firefighter Joe Scheumann.
Mary Ann has already appeared on several local and national television programs.
She plans on being at the dedication of the memorial which is planned for September 11th.
