INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 6, 2016)– Emmis Communications announced layoffs Wednesday that impact their radio stations.

Emmis owns several stations in Indy and Terre Haute, including WIBC, Hank FM, 1070 The Fan and Network Indiana. Emmis also owns Indianapolis Monthly.

The company says they made cuts to personnel in their radio and publishing operations. Senior executives also received pay cuts.

There has been no word yet on how many jobs were lost, or how these cost-cutting measures will impact Indiana radio stations.

The company issued the following statement:

Earlier today, Emmis took a number of personnel and non-personnel actions to reduce expenses in its radio, publishing and corporate divisions. These reductions, which include reductions in force (primarily in Emmis’ radio division) and pay cuts by all senior executives, will help ensure our overall expense structure reflects current operating conditions and provides the flexibility to continue to invest in high-growth opportunities like NextRadio.
