PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2016) – He says it was a prank, but a Florida man ended up in jail after throwing an alligator through a Wendy’s drive-thru window.

Joshua James, 23, faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of an alligator, according to WPTV.

The incident happened in October, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, but James was only recently taken into custody.

A South Florida man was taken into custody after he was accused of placing an order at a Wendy's in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, taking his drink and then pitching in a three-and-a-half foot gator through the drive-thru window when the server turned around.

According to investigators, James pulled up to the drive-thru window and accepted his drink from the server. When the server turned, James tossed the 3-and-a-half-foot gator inside the restaurant.

James said he found the animal on the side of the road and brought it with him to Wendy’s. The alligators was later released in a nearby canal.
