Happy Valentine's day everyone!
It is going to be a cold and snowy day. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the southern half of the state until midnight tonight, this is where we will see the heaviest snow with accumulations up to 3 inches possible.
As the system moves eastward today the entire state will see accumulating snow with 2-3" southwest of I-74 and 1-2" northeast of I-74.
Snow will develop in our western counties around 1pm today and spread eastward during the afternoon and evening hours. The light to moderate steady snow will continue until about 10pm and then become scattered through the overnight hours. Be careful on the roadways as travel conditions will worsen as we head through Valentine's day.
Not only are we looking at snow today but it will also be a cold Valentine's day. Temperatures this morning are starting off in the teens and highs will only reach the lower 20s.
We have a couple more chances of wintry precipitation on Monday and Tuesday. Then we really start to heat up by the end of the week with high temperatures near 60º on Friday!
