Adelaide, Australia (February 14, 2016) -- An American WWII veteran flew to Australia to be reunited with the woman he met and fell in love with during the war after over 70 years ago.

Norwood Thomas, 93, and Joyce Morris, 88, embraced each other for the first time in over five decades this week.

The two first met in London shortly before D-Day. After the war, Norwood returned to the U.S. and Joyce moved to Australia, but they're love never died.

A few months ago, Joyce tracked down Norwood, and they chatted on Skype.

Hundreds of people helped donate money for his trip to Australia.
