INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 19, 2016) – Dow Chemical and DuPont chose Delaware over Indiana and Iowa as the home of their combined agriculture headquarters.

The announcement comes after the companies announced plans to merge late last year, making it the largest agriculture company of its kind. The companies already have a significant presence in both Indianapolis and Johnston, Iowa. Indianapolis is home to Dow AgroSciences, which employs about 1,400 people. In the end, DowDuPont chose Wilmington, Del., as home to its corporate offices.

Indianapolis and Johnston will serve as global business centers, the company announced Friday. Both locations will keep their own leadership teams and handle sales, marketing and research and development.

The merger is expected to close later this year.
