Driver detained after car crashes into Marion Co. Health Department office building

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 7, 2016)– Police detained a woman after her car crashed through a building belonging to the Marion County Health Department Monday night.

Officers were called to a building at in the 3900 block of Meadows Drive around 8 p.m. They discovered a car had gone through a wall of the health department.

The building has some offices as well as Eskenazi Health Urgent Care east. It is near the main health department building.

Police said it appears that it may have been an intentional act, and the driver may suffer from some sort of mental illness.

The driver was detained. No other information has been released.
