Former corrections officer arrested for allegedly having sex with inmate
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 7, 2016)– A former Indiana Department of Corrections officer is facing charges after allegedly having sex with an inmate while working for the Indiana Women’s Prison.
Lamont Williams, 55, faces two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of official misconduct. The initial incident occurred in October 2014 at the prison.
The investigation began in July 2015 after an inmate at the prison made a call to Indiana State Police through the prison’s tip line.
The woman told police there were two separate instances of sexual contact with Williams– one in Oct. 2014 and one in Jan. 2015.
Court documents show the inmate saved some of Williams’ DNA in a tissue after she performed oral sex on him. Officers matched that DNA with Williams’.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s office said Williams initially denied the allegations, but later admitted to having sexual contact with the inmate.
Charges were filed Monday and Williams was taken into custody. He is currently being held on a $15,000 bond at the Marion County Adult Processing Center. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9 at 9 a.m.
