Franklin police ask for help solving brutal hit-and-run crash

FRANKLIN, Ind. (March 9, 2016) – Police in Franklin need help solving a hit-and-run crash from January that resulted in serious injuries.

The crash happened on Jan. 23, 2016, on East King Street in Franklin. A vehicle slammed into a pair of cars, sending two drivers to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The vehicle then left the scene.

Witnesses have varying descriptions of the vehicle responsible for the crash. One witness said it was a small or midsize white SUV while another said it was a tan SUV. Witnesses described the driver as being a white male, possibly in his 20s, with dark hair. Witnesses said the vehicle had significant damage to the front bumper along with damage to the driver’s side.

One of the victims, Grant Black, talked to FOX59 about the crash. He suffered more than a dozen broken ribs and required three surgeries. He didn’t come home from IU Health Methodist for two weeks.
