RECIPE: Spicy Buffalo Hot Wings Hummus

Recipe Spicy Three Pepper Hot Buffalo Wings Hummus 2 cans (15 to 16 oz.) chickpeas, rinsed and drained, 1 cup chickpea liquid reserved 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce 3 (or more!) tablespoons cayenne red pepper hot sauce 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar 1Ú4 cup tahini 4 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice 1Ú4 teaspoon salt 1Ú4 teaspoon ancho chili powder 1Ú4 teaspoon ground cayenne red pepper Place all ingredients in food processor. Add 1Ú4 cup plus 2 tablespoons reserved chickpea liquid. Puree until smooth and creamy. Add additional chickpea liquid if you prefer a thinner hummus. Serve with celery sticks, waffle-style pretzels, pretzel crisps and/or whole-grain crackers. 2 cans (15 to 16 oz.) garbanzo beans, Drained (Reserve All Liquid)

2 tablespoons barbecue sauce

3 (or more!) tablespoons cayenne red pepper hot sauce

1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar

¼ cup almond butter

4 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped

4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ancho chili powder

¼ teaspoon ground cayenne red pepper

¼ teaspoon smoked or regular paprika, optional

Garnishes: hot red peppers, green onions

 

Place all ingredients in food processor. Add ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons reserved chickpea liquid. Puree until smooth and creamy.  Add additional chickpea liquid if you prefer a thinner hummus. Serve with celery sticks, waffle-style pretzels, pretzel crisps and/or whole-grain crackers. Makes about 3 ½ cups hummus.
