Body of 18-year-old Ben Davis senior found behind dumpster

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 22, 2016) – Police say the body of an 18-year-old Ben Davis High School student was found behind a dumpster Monday morning.

Officers were called to the area of 14th Street and Campbell Avenue around 10 a.m. for a death investigation.

Police later confirmed they found the body of Renia Woods. Woods was a senior at Ben Davis High School. They are still waiting for autopsy results to determine her cause of death.

According to the coroner’s office, there were no signs of trauma to Woods’ body.

MSD of Wayne Township released the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the death of Ben Davis High School senior Renia Woods, and are cooperating fully with law enforcement officers investigating her death.”

The school district says counselors will be made available for students and staff.
