INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 31, 2016)-- The women's Final Four is ready to take over downtown Indianapolis this weekend. To kick things off, an Indianapolis basketball standout and former Indiana Fever player is showing off her new career after basketball.

She's also bringing one of the hottest groups from the 90's to turn up tourney town.

From the hardwood to the fashion world, Indy's own Shyra Ely-Gash has a well-documented basketball career. Two state championships with Ben Davis High School and appearances in the Final Four to the WNBA-- but this path wasn't her first choice.

"Fashion was my plan A, basketball was my plan B. My earliest memories are me on the living room floor. Drawing, sketching, coloring, you know circling my favorites in magazines," said Ely-Gash.

As an ambassador for the women's Final Four, Shyra is getting a chance to share her first love with thousands with the hoops meets heels fashion show. This 6'2" forward still rocks basketball shorts and comfortable kicks as she puts together the final touches for Styles By Ms. Ely.

"It's the largest show I've produced to date. We have close to 80 models. We're expecting an audience of 2,000-6,000 with the help of Salt N Peppa," said Ely-Gash.

One of the hottest female groups from the 90s will round off the show with a concert, proving the ladies are truly taking over Indy this weekend.

"Indianapolis is a basketball Mecca, and we're the first city to host all three divisions. This is our third time hosting the Final Four it means a great deal to me and it's kind of full circle to play in the final four and come back and be an ambassador for the event and just share my vision of fashion and basketball."
