PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 31, 2016) – Many of us find things we’d forgotten about long ago when we’re packing for a big move.

But not many of us find something worth $138,000.

That’s the value of an uncashed game check Atlanta Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon found while moving out of his Phoenix-area apartment. Weatherspoon, signed by the Falcons after playing the Arizona Cardinals last season, said his fiancée came across the game check.

Weatherspoon told ESPN that his fiancée texted him a photo of the check while he was on his way home from a workout. She found it in a stack of mail. Weatherspoon said he wasn’t sure why it wasn’t directly deposited into his account and planned to contact the Cardinals to find out what happened.

According to ESPN, Weatherspoon made $3.85 million last season with a base salary of $2.35 million. His game checks would’ve been worth more than $138,000.
