Woman in hospital with shotgun wound after west side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – A woman is in the hospital after a shooting on Indy’s west side early Friday morning.

IMPD officers responded to a report of a female bleeding at the Speedway gas station near the intersection of West Morris Street and South Lynhurst Drive shortly before 12:30 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a 34-year-old woman suffering from a shotgun wound.

Police say the woman did not know who shot her.

She was awake and breathing when transported to the hospital.
