INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Good Tuesday afternoon! It's a beautiful day with some fair-weather clouds and temperatures in the low 70s this afternoon. Temperatures dipped to the mid-50s this morning in Indy and low 50s in Lafayette.
Tonight's temperatures will drop to the low 50s so it's a good night to turn off the AC and open up the windows! Some out-lying areas may dip to the 40s. Wednesday will bring a mostly sunny sky with highs in the low 70s and light west, northwest winds 5-10 mph.
A warm front will lift across the area on Thursday and bring a rise in dew points. This means more moisture will move into the area although it should still feel comfortable with dew points in the upper 50s. However, showers and t-storms will be possible along the front Thursday evening with a complex of storms likely to move in from the northwest Thursday night into Friday. Some of the storms may be strong to severe with damaging winds and hail. You can see the signs of the rain Thursday afternoon on this image of Futurecast.
A ridge of high pressure develops into the weekend with highs in the mid-80s Friday and low 90s Saturday. Dew points will come up into the mid to upper 60s so it will be humid too. It's possible another storm complex moves through Saturday but models are still disagreeing on timing so we'll put a slight chance of storms in for now. Should we reach the forecast high of 91 degrees on Saturday, it will be the warmest all year and warmest since September 8, 2015. --Danielle Dozier
