Crews cut 2 people out of truck after crash on I-65

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis firefighters had to cut open a truck to rescue two people trapped inside after a crash.

The accident happened on I-65 southbound near 71st Street and involved a car and a truck. Indiana State Police said it may have been caused when one of the vehicles merged and clipped the other vehicle. The truck went off the road into the tree line.

Crews from the Indianapolis Fire Department cut two people out of the truck after it went off the road; one of them suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle wasn’t hurt, police said.

The crash shut down part of I-65 during rush hour Thursday morning.
