Indianapolis, Ind. - Many eyes are on Governor Mike Pence today, watching for any sign he's heading to New York. Donald Trump plans to announce his running mate at 11 a.m. Friday in Manhattan.

Sources say there is a split in the Trump camp.

"The political advisers and the consultants are favoring Mike Pence, but the Trump children are in Newt Gingrich’s camp," said IndyStar columnist Tim Swarens.

Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions is also in the mix.

All three met with Trump and some of his family members in Indianapolis Wednesday.

"The point he made at the very end of our meeting, to all of us, was only one person knows who's going to be the vice president and that person doesn't know yet," said Gingrich. "I thought that was a good way to put it. He's on the way to California and I suspect that sometime tomorrow, Mike and I will both get phone calls and one of us will be packing our bags to go to New York and the other one will be going to watch it on TV."

Trump is spending Thursday at private fundraisers in California.
