INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Indianapolis Animal Care & Control (IACC) is offering some adoption deals as they say their facility has hit maximum capacity with no signs of a slowdown.

The shelter says they’re averaging 20 owner surrenders every day, while adoptions don’t come close to that.

To help make room for animals, IACC is running a $20 adoption special on all cats and dogs through July 22. On July 23, IACC will drop the price to $10 as part of the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” event. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchipping and vaccines.

Adoptable animals can be found here.

“We want every animal that is with us to be as comfortable as possible,” said Department of Code Enforcement director, Jason Larrison. “Currently, we are having to utilize kennels that are smaller than we’d like for both cats and dogs just to make space. Because of the high temperatures, we’re unable to give animals a lot of time outside, which is affecting animal and staff morale.”

IACC is located at 2600 S. Harding St. in Indianapolis.

Shelter hours are Monday, 10 a.m.‐8 p.m. and Tuesday‐Saturday, 10 a.m.‐6 p.m.
